Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees, including tracking hours worked, managing deductions, and verifying payroll changes.
- Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and generate detailed reports for management, including overtime, paid time off (PTO), and wage discrepancies.
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including taxes, withholdings, and deductions. Stay updated on changing regulations that impact payroll.
- Maintain and improve payroll systems and processes and troubleshoot any system-related issues that arise. Collaborate with HR and IT to enhance payroll software efficiency.
- Review and manage certified payroll reports for public and private projects, ensuring they align with prevailing wage and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any issues related to salary, benefits, or deductions.
- Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues promptly and maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a construction industry.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $30-$35 per hour, based on experience.
